L’hypothyroïdie congénitale avec le goitre est observée pour séparer comme trait récessif autosomal simple dans toy fox terriers (TFTs).
Les petits atteints néonatals présentent un comportement inactif, un pelage anormal, une ouverture oculaire retardée et des conduits auditifs par sténose. Des gonflements cervicaux ventrolatéraux palpables peuvent être présents avant l’âge de 1 semaine.
Rat Terriers sont censés avoir acquis plus récemment, à la suite de croisement avec Toy Fox Terriers.
Caractéristiques cliniques
Typical clinical findings include growth retardation (disproportionate dwarfism) because of epiphyseal dysplasia, delay in maturation changes such as eyeopening and tooth eruption, abnormal hair and skin texture, mental retardation, and lethargy.
Additional Information
La plupart des hypothyroïdismes ne sont pas congénitaux. Le trouble est mortel à moins qu’il ne soit diagnostiqué et traité tôt.
