Cleft Lip / Palate and Syndactyly (CLPS) is a genetic abnormality that causes a closure defect in the top of the mouth (palate). This condition occurs during the development of the puppy. There may also be a cleft lip and syndactyly (fused toes).
This variant of the condition occurs in the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, and is caused by a recessive mutation to the gene ADAMTS20.
Caractéristiques cliniques
Clinical signs are a cleft palate, cleft lip and possible syndactyly.
